It has been a while since we updated this section; ‘scat you peskey moths and dust’ *Latimer and Ridley dust off the bookwork section with a rough sweep of their virtual hands*
We’ve been working away like busy bees this last month and a half. The book has been professionally, structurally edited by the good folks at BubbleCow. Now, with all the necessary corrections made; many hours of work in Ridley’s house, drinking vast amounts of Lyons tea and eating all manner of goodies; the book has returned to BubbleCow for proofreading.
All is going well and hopefully we will have many more updates in the next month!
Watch this space 🙂
*Latimer and Ridley continue to clean away the moths and dust* ‘it won’t be this dusty next time you visit, we promise’

Our book trailer is done for our first book!
Product description of Legend Unleashed (Keeping Secrets, Book 1)
July 15th 2012
We are absolutely thrilled to share the cover for our new book with you!
It’s called (as you can see!); Legend Unleashed (Keeping Secrets, Book 1).
On the back of the book we have the blurb:
“Temperance Levinthal is in danger. She’s been dragged in Alastair Byron’s deadly world. Before she met him, everything was normal. Now she’s fleeing from werewolves, fighting wizards and finding that some secrets are best left untold.”
Our cover artist, Collette was absolutely fantastic! She’s an industrial designer, working in Australia and she also happens to be the sister of one of our best friends. It really is a case if you just look around you and ask, you already know some amazing people who are more than willing to help when you start to chase your dreams.
We provided Collette with a brief (perhaps one that was a little too detailed and long!! Haha…) on what we wanted in terms of colour scheme, images and our over all general idea for the cover. We’ll be the first to admit, we’re both perfectionists and hard to please at times, but we were delighted when this winged it’s way into our inbox. She even gave us quite a number of options to choose from, after much debate between us though, we decide the above cover was the one for us, it was our cover. We’ll show you some of the other options below though!
Sometimes it’s a pity you can’t use every option, isn’t it?
Ridley: We really wanted a black and white theme (as you can see). I’ve always found black and white very striking. A cover like that has never failed to make me double back and pick it up (or click on it, if I’m online). Having done its job to stop me and tempt me, its then the blurb’s duty to hook me into buying! So unfortunately, I do judge a book by it’s cover, I like pretty things, so sue me! Haha! I can’t wait to hold this book in my hands and then slide it, pride of place, on to my bookshelf. It will be a fantastic day. Even if no one else ever buys it, I’ll be extremely proud of all we’ve achieved! It’s an exciting time to be a writer….
Latimer: We love silhouettes, this will become a theme I think 🙂 This is certainly a very exciting time for us. We’ve spent years writing and it almost seems unreal to now be standing where we are, pushing our own machine forward, so to speak! It really is a great time to be a writer.
Also, if you are interested in hiring Collette to do your own book cover, we can pass on your query to her! Just sent us an email. We’d be delighted to share her with the world, she’s fantastic at what she does and extremely helpful! She listens to what you want and makes it a reality.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better designer!
Thanks again Collette! 🙂
Also finished and coming soon is our book trailer! Stay tuned!

We’ve emailed our book to our editor! We’ve decided to commission the services of Bubblecow. We’re looking forward to working with them!
Latimer did a fantastic job pushing herself to get our final edit done within the publishing timeline we’ve set ourselves. We originally divided up the work, so at this stage the book has seen about four edits-two each! But nothing will ever beat a professional set of eyes, so we’re definitely looking forward to what comes back to us. I’m certain we’ll learn loads, after all we want our work to be the best it can be!
Very exciting really, it’s all starting to feel very real!
We also received our book cover, it’s currently undergoing minor edits but we’re so impressed with it. I think we both spent two days randomly grinning at people, filled with a kind of giddy joy. We’ll be sharing it with everyone soon, don’t worry!
June 15th 2012
This section is empty, for now.
We’ve decided to follow the long and winding road to final publication.
We are self-publishing, its been an important decision, though a very exciting and liberating one. It’s quite empowering being in charge of every aspect of the process, we don’t need to compromise on our vision to fall in line with what marketing men insist the public wants. We say, give your book wings and let the people decide! They generally know what they like.
So our first step? We’ve just commissioned an artist to design our book cover (very very exciting!).
We’re also getting feedback on our blurb and production description with our betas.
After this and once we’ve completed our own sessions of editing, we’ll be hiring a professional editor.
And then we will continue on with the rest of the publishing process!
Lots to do, endless lists, but we’re finding it quite fun to be doing something now, making things happen for us, rather than waiting for them!
So stay tuned! We’ll be giving small updates at the end of our future posts, we’ll share all of the exciting milestones as we reach them!
“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
