When an infamous criminal is unleashed from his prison, it has consequences for everyone in Carwick. Temperance Levinthal in particular…
Temperance is satisfied with her ordinary life. Dealing with her eccentric, childlike parents is all the excitement she needs. That changes when Alastair Byron returns home.
After a failed matchmaking attempt by her father, sparks fly between her and Alastair-just not the good kind.
They are forced together though, when they are implicated in a grisly murder. Their search for the truth leads them to a secret world beneath Carwick, filled with werewolves, wizards and other magical faey.
However, uncovering the truth is far more dangerous than they’d ever imagined.
There are secrets within secrets.
Even Alastair may be more than he seems…

What time period is this written around? Doesn’t sound modern day 🙂 Sounds like a good read, though! And I love that cover art. It’s one of the things we can’t experience on an e-reader, having those wraparound covers/dust jackets.
It is set in the modern day, though I think the book trailer gives it more a of vintage feel! 🙂 Thanks for your lovely compliments Sarah! And it’s so true, reading ebooks are so handy (especially when it’s midnight, you’ve finished the book and you’re just dying for the sequel and it’s there at a click of a button!!) but I do miss holding an actual book and seeing the cover art, you don’t get to appreciate it as much in ebook form.
Right? You don’t want to buy an entire series right off the bat. Get book one, and if you love it, then you want to chain read. I like it for a couple of reasons, like not having a massive number of books to carry if I move and being able to travel and still have access to my entire library. Plus, it’s made it even more convenient for me to use the library. They don’t have digital copies for every book physically owned, but they do have enough to keep a girl busy! I’m really curious to see what the future holds for books and if they essentially become extinct as physical editions.
It’s a shame you don’t have a donate button! I’d definitely
